Maulana Azad Scholarship (2019) – How to check Eligibility & Apply

The Maulana Azad Education Foundation provides “Begum Hazrat Magal National Scholarship” every year for girl (female) student belonging to minorities. The well known “Maulana Azad Scholarship” is a pre-matric scholarship awarded to students studying in 9th grade or higher (till 12th grade / puc – 2nd year).

The main objective of this scholarship is to recognize, promote and assist meritorious Girl students belonging to the six notified minority communities. The communities eligible under this scheme are Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists, Parsis, and Jains.

Moreover, the purpose of this scholarship is to make the payment of school/college fee and purchase of study material like stationery/equipment required for the course.

Important Dates to keep in mind:

Online Registration Starts 15th July 2019
Last Date to Apply 15th September 2019
Last date to send the printed application form with relevant documents. 30th September 2019

The online registration process for “Maulana Azad scholarship” is available every year in the month of July. Interested and eligible candidates can apply within two months of notification till the last date. After filling the application form candidate has to send its hard copy with relevant documents to the MAEF office before September 2019.

Eligibility Criteria:

To apply for this pre-matric scholarship, the candidate has to full fill the following eligibility conditions:

  • The applicant should be a girl and studying in either class 9, 10, 11 (PUC – 1st Year) or 12 (PUC – 2nd Year).
  • Applicant should have to secure at least 50% marks or equivalent grade in the previous class.
  • Applicant should belong to one of the minority communities such as Muslim, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists, Parsis, and Jains.
  • The applicant’s parents/guardians income from all sources must be less than 2 lakh per annum.

Note: The income certificate should be issued by an appropriate authority such as Tehsildar or Sub-Tehsildar.

How to apply?

To apply for this scholarship, the candidate has to follow the following steps given below:

Step # 1 – Visit the official website of the Maulana Azad Education Foundation:
Step # 2 – On the Homepage, follow the link as “MAEF Schemes >> Online Registration >> Apply Online.
Step # 3 – You will be redirected to application form portal, fill your personal details carefully & correctly.
Step # 4 – Once you are done filling out all the details as requested, submit the application form. You now have to take a print out of your application form for future reference.
Step # 5 – You will have to send the duly filled application form along with the documents listed below (attested) to the Address given below.

Note: There are no fees/charges for either online application form or for any other service in this regard. Before filling the application form read all instruction carefully.

Where to send the application form?

Applicants have take a print-out of the duly filled application form. Then get it verified it by the Head of the Institution (they are currently studying in).

The verification should be in the prescribed form along with income certificate, previous class mark sheet and minority certificate.

At last, submit all verified documents in the office of MAEF by Post. The postal address is given below.

What is the Scholarship Amount?

9th Class Rs. 5,000/-
10th Class Rs. 5,000/-
11th Class (PUC – 1) Rs. 6,000/-
12th Class (PUC – 2) Rs. 6,000/-

The scholarship amount is directly credited to the Bank Account of the successful applicant through Direct Beneficiary Transfer (DBT) mode.
