What is novel coronavirus?

Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by a new virus. The disease causes respiratory illness (like the flu) with symptoms such as a cough, fever, and in more severe cases, difficulty breathing.

You can protect yourself by washing your hands frequently, avoiding touching your face, and avoiding close contact (1 meter or 3 feet) distances with who are unwell.

COVID-19 symptoms range from mild to severe. It takes 2-14 days after exposure for symptoms to develop. Symptoms may include:

  • Hard Cough
  • Resoiratory Distress
  • Fever
  • Shortness of Breath
  • Headache
  • Kidney Failure

How can I protect myself from Covid-19?

Wear Face Mask

Wear a face mask at all times when outside or in a public area.


Cover Face When Coughing

Cover your mouth/nose with a tissue or sleeve when coughing or sneezing.


Wash Your Hand

Wash hands often with soap and water. If not available, use hand sanitizer.

Don't touch your face

You should avoid touching your own face as the bacteria's that gather on your hands to infect you.


Avoid Markets and Crowd

Cover your mouth/nose with a tissue or sleeve when coughing or sneezing.


Avoid Handshakes

Avoid shaking hands with other people. Use disinfectant regularly.
